The forest of enchantment

every man will have a voice, no matter how humble he is,” Sita wants to ask, “What about the women?

We all know ramayana but, from only one perspective. So Sita is unhappy with this one-sided narrative. She has her side of the story to tell the world – “Sitayan”.

I'm totally confused what should I write about this book. Because this type of book should be read by everyone to understand magic of it.

At first I'm quite irritated while reading ramayana from opposite gender view. But, I do believe that everyone has own point of view. So i started reading and I must say it changed my mind somehow.

Chitra Banerjee Divakaurni’s latest novel, The Forest of Enchantments, is must read book. The author has done full justice to Sita's character by bringing her alive through her imagination and knowledge. Sita's life story is so well described.

I believe that before writing such novel author did hell lot of study to narrate such great character in front of us. Urmila, Sunaina, Mandodari, Kaushalya, Sarama Even Surpanakha every women character is deeply written. An enthralling yet extremely heart breaking story told so poignantly from Sita's perspective that has not filled my heart with anger towards Ram or men of the society.

Basically this is the story of all women in ramayana. This book best talk about all sitayan. But, all the men in the book is like one dimension or typical.

Overall its awesome read to watch ramayana in sitayana with lots of information.
